Word for the English Church

A Word on the English Church

On waking I was given these words several times: “That arrogant self-satisfied bully of a church.” I asked the LORD God of Israel for understanding and Scripture. He gave me Isaiah 28.  As I read it, I realised He is saying this is an allegory for the state of the English church!

The bride of the LORD Yeshua in England will already be examining herself rigorously. We are already in often immediate, humbled, searching communication with our LORD and Saviour.

This word is about the monolith of the English churches, of all denominations and none, who’s pride is in themselves. These words of judgement will apply to the extent of that pride.

This word is to help church goers and some christians understand what they are about to see over the next 3 to 21 months.

The LORD’s actions will also help heal His bride from injustice endured at the hands of this church.

Some churches, and affiliated church organisations, will close. Some will shrink. Most will be humbled through the LORD's Hand. Some of their building’s will be given to business, because that is what they were. They were not of His Kingdom, they were of man and woman’s kingdoms. The LORD is simply going to be exposing us all for what we already are: brides or prostitutes, or the extent to which we are a mix of the two. When what is supposed to be for covenantal, holy, completely trusting, intimacy - the fruit of which is heavenly nourishment, joy and preparation for His Marriage - is deceptively manipulated as an arrogant, self-satisfying trap and bride-using, bride-bullying substitute, I wonder how long the LORD would allow that before He steps in? If anything, I have been amazed at how patient He is, and how long He has held back His justice and judgement. But time for His justice and judgement has begun.

Some within the counterfeit do not know the extent to which they are deluded. If someone doesn’t really listen to His words, He will then use His actions to get their attention.

Bride, you will still see some trying to ‘recreate’ what they are about to lose, because they are not relating to God as He really is in His Word. They still won’t understand it is the LORD Himself causing them their losses. They will ‘pray away the devil’ not realising it is the LORD, because they don’t know Him.

Why will He be bringing the judgements of Isaiah 28 through the English church?

Because He is both Pure Love and Pure Holiness, He is giving all individual hearts within all expressions of faith in Him time to return as fully as we can TO OBEDIENCE TO HIS WORD; which presupposes reading it in its entirety through a holy translation. Through the first lockdown He has already been giving us time to turn away and separate from evil, and non-kingdom distractions, in order to spend much more time with Him in His Word, in prayer, fasting and fellowship with others who do the same.

An Introduction to Isaiah 28:

In the first verse of Isaiah 28 is the addressing phrase: “the crown of pride”. The Hebrew word for “pride” (גֵּאוּת) has as its root two sets of meanings;

  • pride, arrogance, conceit, haughtiness, lifting up, surging sea, rising smoke
  • Or majesty, glory, triumph gloriously, to rise up, be exalted, excellency

Isaiah 28 is therefore addressed to those who lift themselves up, who are arrogant and lift up their own glory and majesty, as a community, ministry, organisation, church group, group of proud hearts, or even as arrogant pride in their building – while attaching His Name to their endeavours and projects. Many within the church will know this is what they are doing; in fact, this is the reason they have sought positions of ‘power’ within church organisations and ministries. Being part of this mini-human-kingdom validates their worth in entirely the wrong eternal direction.

Dear bride, the LORD is simply about to begin to expose what He has always seen, for us to see, for the glory of His Name and for the love of mankind. He has to start in His house in order to help the world find its way home to Him, not to a counterfeit saviour. Do not be distressed or confused by what you will see in this nation’s churches. It is His Purifying Salvational Love.

The final verses of Isaiah 28 show how perfect He is in applying just the right amount of pressure to each heart, sin and deception, in order to bring forth His harvest from His crops. This is the meaning of that beautifully poetic picture at the end of this passage below; this is “the LORD of hosts doing wonders in counsel, making sound wisdom great.”

In Hebrew the very last two words underlined of Isaiah 28 (הִגְדִּיל תּוּשִׁיָּה) literally mean “great sound judgement working victory.” As we watch over the coming months, precious humble bride of Christ, trust Him that His judgements are expressions of His complete wisdom. He has been putting a phrase in my heart, and on my lips of prayer and praise almost spontaneously, since February: “He has every right to judge.” This may sound so basic based on His Word, but the false church, mixed in with the world’s narrative, has tried to take this ‘right’ away from Him by their mouths. What a proud, incomprehensible thing to try to do, to tell the Creator of the mouth who you think He should be, via that same mouth! It makes no sense. I often wonder how He feels to hear that. Is He hurt and bewildered to be told Who He is not?

So, I want to enjoy His Holy Pressure as life-giving and sin-destroying, as we, His bride, spend precious heavenly time with Him, learning to trust more and more in His Word alone. I believe if we lift up a Biblically correct LORD and Saviour alone, if we point to Him not ourselves, He will lift us up above the surging sea and rising smoke of His righteous judgment of the church.  And then, not just for our own peace, our witness will draw lost souls to His Kingdom, not draw lost souls to the kingdom of man and woman’s church.

At the final judgment He will weigh and test all things with such perfection we will be in awe of Him. He is only – out of love – showing some of that now, in the world and in this nation, as a preliminary, while we all still have a little time to choose repentance and to keep choosing repentance.  Dear fellow bride, may all His Perfect Words drive us all closer to Him and away from evil. Do not worry, He has seen and sees all things and we can rest our hearts in His Perfect Justice and Judgements, of ourselves and others. He knows all things and sees all things, even knowing and seeing what we cannot yet know and see in ourselves.

Isaiah 28: Judgment on Ephraim: “Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine! Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand. The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim, shall be trodden under feet: And the glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley, shall be a fading flower, and as the hasty fruit before the summer; which when he that looketh upon it seeth, while it is yet in his hand he eateth it up. In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people, And for a spirit of judgment to Him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate. But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment. For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean. Whom shall He teach knowledge? and whom shall He make to understand doctrine? Them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: For with stammering lips and another tongue will He speak to this people. To whom He said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken. Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem. Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves.

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place. And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it. From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report. For the bed is shorter than that a man can stretch himself on it: and the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself in it. For the LORD shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do His work, His strange work; and bring to pass His act, His strange act. Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.

Give ye ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech. Doth the plowman plow all day to sow? Doth he open and break the clods of his ground? When he hath made plain the face thereof, doth he not cast abroad the fitches, and scatter the cummin, and cast in the principal wheat and the appointed barley and the rie in their place? For his God doth instruct him to discretion, and doth teach him. For the fitches are not threshed with a threshing instrument, neither is a cart wheel turned about upon the cummin; but the fitches are beaten out with a staff, and the cummin with a rod. Bread corn is bruised; because he will not ever be threshing it, nor break it with the wheel of his cart, nor bruise it with his horsemen. This also cometh forth from the LORD of hosts, which is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in working.”
